New Reasons

"Fast-paced frenetic genetics"

Notes to Self are longer journal entries from Seven Yrs Ago. I was 21 in early 2014.

What’s going to happen when there’s a beautiful day outside? Are you going to take a break and lie in the grass or are you going to Instagram it and go back inside and put a filter on it?

We keep saying “live in the moment,” but that’s what it is for us: a moment. It takes more than a moment to listen to someone, to learn from a mistake, to really empathize with how a person is feeling, to realize what the right thing is, to love.

We’re living fast and dying young, but we don’t know it because there isn’t an app for that. We may get to the point where we’ve forgotten how to think for ourselves and to learn from our experiences because we’ve replaced learning with fact intaking; the difference is digestion vs. acid reflux (not sure if right analogy but I like the sound of it).

And tumbling further into the future: What wisdom are we going to impart on our kids, on our grandkids? “30 foods to die for” or that family recipe

Are we even going to get to that point where we sit down to have a talk with our kids or will we have a stagnated impatience? Fast-paced frenetic genetics.
