New Reasons

"No one who puts his hand to the plow and looks back is fit for the kingdom of God."

Notes to Self are longer journal entries from Seven Yrs Ago. I was 21 mid-2014.

Luke 9:57-62 (ESV) | Bible Study: Self-rationalization

(1) Give up POSSESSIONS

‘I will follow you where you go’

You will have no home. OR You will have to relinquish what you already have (another challenge in itself).

“Foxes have holes . . . but the Son of Man has nowhere to lay his head.” — Jesus

“Go back to where you used to be, cause that’s where the need is.” — Pastor Manny (PM)

“You give into your fears, you’re never gonna make those choices.” — PM

(2) Give up PEOPLE — filial duty, to your nuclear parents

“They don’t challenge me. Why? Because we’re family. And we like to be comfortable.”

Family as seductive distraction to religion/challenging duty

(3) Give up PURPOSE

“Let me say farewell to my home.”

"No one who puts his hand to the plow and looks back is fit for the kingdom of God."
