While there is less strong evidence that “It always gets better” and “it’s blackest before the dawn” etc. it is better for you to choose to believe it because of stronger evidence of what happens to people who don’t believe it. People who commit suicide see no hope and don’t believe that things will get better. This is why they kill themselves: they feel that there is nothing to live for. If you believe there is something better; if you go out to find it and don’t stop believing that, then you have something to live for. You will not perish emptyhanded.
